Tarmi A'Vard
Tarmi A’Vard is the 2025 Victorian Teacher/Trainer of the Year and 2025 Australian Teacher/Trainer of the Year (Silver). With more than two decades across the criminal justice and education sectors, she brings frontline experience from Community Corrections, Youth Justice, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, universities, and custodial education.
Now teaching at Bendigo TAFE, Tarmi specialises in applied, industry relevant VET training for learners preparing to work in complex justice and social services settings. Her practice is grounded in trauma informed, relational pedagogy that prioritises engagement, capability development, and real world readiness
