Dean Sherwell

Dean Sherwell is a senior leader in vocational education and workforce development with over 25 years of experience across both public and private sectors. His work is driven by a commitment to building strategic partnerships that enhance educational access, industry relevance, and community impact. As Manager – Commercial Sales and Partnerships at TAFE Queensland, he lead sales and industry engagement strategies that align with organisation’s broader educational and workforce goals. He has spearheaded initiatives that expand training access in regional communities, including the development of a virtual Cyber Security program in partnership with the Queensland Government—making specialist training available to remote learners for the first time. Throughout his career, he has led transformational projects that connect education with industry needs. From increasing market share in apprenticeships and traineeships to delivering aged care workforce solutions aligned with national reform, Dean has consistently focused on creating scalable, responsive education models that support economic and social outcomes. Dean hold a Bachelor of Commerce in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from Griffith University and completed the QUT Enterprise Leadership Program in Systems Thinking for Leaders, he is passionate about the role of vocational education in shaping future-ready communities and looks forward to contributing insights on strategic collaboration, regional engagement, and innovation in education delivery.
