Chisholm Elevate Program: Embedding Student Success in Course Delivery through Strengths-Based Model (132465)

In 2025, Chisholm Institute launched the Elevate Program, a student success initiative embedded in course delivery. Co-designed with education teams, Elevate uses a strengths-based model that shifts student support from a reactive, deficit approach to a proactive, flourish framework grounded in partnership, inclusion, and empowerment.

The program provides tailored, wrap-around support mapped to the student journey, targeting high-value and high-attrition areas. At Chisholm, we know one size doesn’t fit all, each model is uniquely designed to meet cohort needs, embedded in education delivery, and agile enough to respond to changing student demands.

Highlights

*In-class Success Coaching: 15-minute individual check-ins with Success Coaches to review progress, answer questions, and co-create study plans. Confidence to complete the course is tracked at each session

*Stream-Specific Pre-Commencement Workshops: Live online sessions co-delivered with teaching teams, addressing key attrition risks between enrolment and commencement. Includes Q&As, preparation and breakout rooms on disability support, work-life balance, financial wellbeing, and digital readiness.

*Study Success Sessions in Library & Learning Centres: Embedded support for research, referencing, and digital literacy. Includes bookable 1:1 support, neurodiverse strategies, and connection opportunities.

*Peer-to-Peer Employability Programs: Delivered via the Student Ambassador program and supported by a Careers Advisor. Services include resume checks, interview practice, and pathway conversations, reducing referral barriers and repetition.

*Student Voice: “Snap surveys” capture real-time feedback, shaping student-led initiatives like the Dungeons & Dragons Club, Conversation Club, and Table Tennis Tournaments—now central to Chisholm’s engagement ecosystem.

Since its launch, there has been a noticeable increase in student engagement with Disability Support and other specialist services. Teachers report fewer escalations, stronger class cohesion, and improved focus on teaching and feedback from students has been positive.

Attendees will gain practical insight into co-designed, strengths-based models that move beyond deficit frameworks to embed inclusion, student voice, and shared accountability for student success.
