The workshop will showcase how TAFE NSW is embedding Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging as a strategic enabler of organisational performance, workforce engagement, and public value. As Australia’s largest vocational education and training provider, TAFE NSW has placed inclusion at the centre, recognising that equitable access and cultural safety are not just moral priorities, but critical to operational success.
Participants at the TAFE Directors Conference will gain insight into the structures that underpin this work, including the cross-functional D&I Council, governance groups, and staff networks that amplify diverse voices and guide enterprise-wide initiatives. The 12-member D&I Team, including team members with lived experience, provide a centre of excellence, partnering with stakeholders across the organisation to co-design tools, influence policy, and build organisational capability.
The session will showcase how key frameworks including the Gender Equity Action Plan, Closing the Gap Strategy, Disability Inclusion Action Plan, Reconciliation Action Plan, Multicultural Action Plan and LGBTIQA+ Inclusion are being operationalised through strong governance, accessible resources, and targeted cultural change initiatives.
Attendees will be able to take away models to utilise, scalable strategies, and actionable insights that demonstrate how DEIB can be embedded across their organisations, driving systemic change, reducing barriers, and creating workplaces and learning environments where everyone belongs.
